Hero motocorp previously known as Hero Honda have released their first off road- on road bike. Release of Hero motocorp Impulse was a bold decision by the Hero people. They are trying to grab as much as customers and increase their sales.They are trying to be the number 1 position by making some changes in graphics, giving many options for the buyer to select the color....

 Styling

At first sight it looks like a off-road bike with the mud guards lifted above. The silencer is attached a little below or adjacent to the seat. A doubt pop up in my mind. Will the pillion feel the heat of the silencer after a long ride?? I threw the same question to the sales manager. He just said it is designed to withstand the heat and all. I was not convinced. So whatever... The design of the bike is not that attractive to have a lasting impression on your face. 
 It has Digital-analog combo meter console with ‘service due’ indicator Sharp edgy graphics. It has raised fender and large diameter front wheel with “stud pattern’ type tyres. But it is completely a different bike from that of the bikes present in the market. 

Engine

• It is a air cooled, High torque ATFT 4-stroke single cylinder engine with displacement of 149.2cc. It delivers 13.2Ps @ 7500 rpm and 13.4 N-m @ 5000 rpm.

• The engine is designed for both off-road and on road commuting. 

• The fuel capacity of the bike is  11 Litre with reserve 2.6 Litre (Usable)

• The gear shift which has 5-speed constant meshsoft clutch is smooth and easy during off roading and also for commuting. Soft clutch is an added advantage. 

• Brakes: 240 mm Disc (Front), 110 mm Internal Expanding Drum (Rear). 

Handling

Hero impulse nitrox monoshock

The best part of the bike! Bike equipped with meatier tires, Nitrox monoshock rear suspension coupled with tougher shock absorbers in front gives the edge of the bikes handling. This bike which is designed for off-roading does its job satisfactorily for the money paid. Its actually the best off-road bike under one lakh. Forget about the path holes and bumps on the road, just keep driving as the nitrox monoshock does its job. 

Its an awesome handling bike.

Mileage

Yeah so mileage. This is an off road bike so it all depends on the condition of the off-road. The mileage of the bike may be around 40-45 during off-roading. About 45-55 during daily commuting.
