TVS Apache RTR 160 review

Intro

TVS Apache RTR 160
Apache RTR 160 is the product of one of the Indian company TVS. RTR 160(racing throttle responce) was released to give tough competition for the Bajaj's pulsar 150. TVS Apache was upgraded in the later stage as RTR. After that their sales went up.

Ex-showroom  price Delhi : Rs.67505

Styling

It is a good looking bike with led tail lamps, nice looking head lamp, with the best digital console in India etc. Styling is good and one may like and the other may not.
Remark: 3.5/5

Engine

Engine roars when we start the engine and is not smooth as Yamaha FZ or Honda Unicorn or even may be Pulsar 150.  I just love the sound of it. The TVS engineers call it RTR as it responds to even the slightest twist in the accelerator.TVS apache RTR has the most power engine in the segment.
But the negative point about RTR is its gearbox. One cannot just flick it. Gear shifting is a little hard.
One has to give this bike for regular servicing to try to maintain the gearbox smoothness.

Handling

In traffic condition and even in highways it handles good. But it could have been better. The rear tyre looks a little small compared to the body of the bike. But the engineers in TVS are not dumb. They say that it's enough for a bike of that kind. But in my opinion it could have been bigger.
TVS Apache is suited for zipping through the traffic, to be upfront after the signal turns green. It is also good for long rides. When i tested the bike which is one of my friend's i noted a little pain near the shoulder. I told him about this pain near my shoulder and he said he had it too. But after 1-2 rides one gets adjusted.
I noticed some vibrations from 45-55. It was like vibration of mobile. vibration occurs only at that speed but after crossing 55 vibration vanishes.

Mileage

During my riding the mileage was 42. As i have said in the earlier post it varies from one person to other. Even the person who owned that bike got same figures as i have got. So one can expect 40+ from this bike.
